Why can’t I refer myself?

We are sure you are wonderful, and you may be the best physician for some of our patients! But we have to have physicians referred by other physicians. Having a third-party verification is part of our promise to our clients. Encouraging physicians in your area to sign up with Ilumina Health helps us expand our network and might increase the likelihood of you getting a referral.

Why can’t I refer my partner? S/he would be perfect!

We are glad you like and respect your partners! And in many cases that person may be the best one for the job. But in order to ensure that our patients are getting recommendations that are free from financial motivations, we can’t allow physicians to make recommendations from which they would profit, either directly or indirectly. Again, encouraging physicians to join Ilumina Health is the best way to get a referral for your partner.

How can I get paid?

You can choose to enter your bank account for deposits, or we can send you a debit card once you’ve accumulated $50 in your account.

What if I don’t know anyone related to the request?

If you refer us to a physician who does give us a recommendation, you will also receive a small payment.

Plus, responding to surveys, even if you don’t have a recommendation for that particular patient, increases the chances that we will ask you for more recommendations in the future. We appreciate physicians who answer promptly!

Why do I have to enter my NPI number?

We verify that every person responding to our surveys is actually a physician.

Will the patient or physician I refer know that I was the person who recommended him/her to a patient?

No. We do not disclose Physician Referrer information to patients, and we disclose no information to recommended physicians.
